Different to other steam railway experiences - Because it is really a depot and can be described as an outdoor museum. Plenty of old trains and rolling stock to see and you can ride some albeit on a very small demonstration line. But for a different steam experience this is recommended. Exhibition Only Days - Visited on a Friday lunchtime, very quiet so was able to wander around and explore. Discovered volunteers working on restoration projects who were all happy to explain what was going on. Lunch in the refreshment room was bonus with a hot meal cooked to order. Parking across road at the pay and display carpark was easy and just a short walk through the mainline station subway to gain access to the centre.- Derek S
