Living Museum of the Great Western Railway

No 316 - Hawksworth Passenger Brake Van

This coach was acquired from the Nene Valley Railway, where it was used as a shop. It was originally intended to convert it into a Kitchen Car to preserve our two historic examples (9118 & 9635) intact.

As an interim measure the TPO 814 group undertook a tidying programme, including the complete replacement of the gutters to allow this vehicle to run with the Travelling Post Office as a tender vehicle until such time as No. 1184 has been completed, but the vehicle is currently in use as a locker room!
