No 100682 (91200) - Wagon for Chaired Sleepers

The wagon was originally built for carrying chaired sleepers from the creosoting works at Hayes.  It was subsequently bought by the Taunton Concrete Company who fitted wooden sides and painted it green. It is usually refered to as 'The Green Wagon' at Didcot, though it no longer has any green parts!

In 2018 it was repainted with the original parts in GWR dark grey and the later additions in 1980s Railfreight grey. Over the summer of 2023 most of the parts added by the Taunton Concrete Company were removed, returning the wagon to near original condiation.

It is fitted with an air through pipe allowing it to be run in an air braked train.

In use as stores wagon for conveying large materials and equipment into and out of the Railway Centre. Mainline registration GWS 91200.

With the sides removed it is now available as a well-wagon alowing it to carry heavy plant on and off the site.  Its first use in this form was in early September 2023 when it was used to bring on the large exavator required for the entrance ramp project.
