National recognition for volunteer Frank

Volunteer Frank Dumbleton has been presented a Certificate of Appreciation from the national Museums & Heritage Awards.

Head of Visitor Experience and Marketing, Graham Hukins, said “Frank is one of our longest serving volunteers and the work he does photographing our activities is invaluable in documenting what we do and publicising our open days and events. His efforts have enabled us to refresh our marketing over the last year and adopt an image-led strategy – we estimate he volunteered on more than 100 days in 2019 and as well as photography, he helps as a tour guide and education steward.  This accolade is very well deserved.”

The certificate was presented by Didcot Town Mayor, Eleanor Hards, during her visit to the Centre on 4 July - the occasion of the Centre's re-opening following lockdown.

The Centre relies on the work of around 250 volunteers who collectively contribute more than 50,000 hours of work every year.
