Pitchford Hall arrives for Gala

Our gala visitor 4953 ‘Pitchford Hall’ has arrived at Didcot. The locomotive and tender are seen in Didcot West Yard, having been unloaded from road transport, and are awaiting transfer to Didcot Railway Centre by DB Cargo. We’re very much looking forward to running her alongside our very own 1340, 2409 and 4079 on 23/24 September. More information and tickets for the Gala. The locomotive is normally based at the Epping-Ongar Railway and the hall's visit reciprocates the visit of our own 'Pendennis Castle' to that railway earlier in the year.

In addition to the gala, 4953 will be running on 22nd September and posing in a line up alongside our Halls 5900 ‘Hinderton Hall’ and 6998 ‘Burton Agnes Hall’ for our special 'Host of Halls' day. She’ll also run on 30th September before heading home.
