Didcot Railway Centre has been awarded £184,939 as part of the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund (CRF) to help face the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and to ensure they have a sustainable future, the Culture Secretary has announced.
The Centre is one of 588 cultural and creative organisations across the country receiving urgently needed support – with £76 million of investment announced on 17 October. This follows £257 million awarded earlier in the month to 1,385 organisations, also from the Culture Recovery Fund grants programme being administered by Arts Council England on behalf of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
We were thrilled to hear we have received funding from to the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund so that we can continue to be here for you and Here For Culture. 2020 has been a difficult year and now the Centre has re-opened in Covid-secure way, you can help by booking a visit or making a donation.
Help us maintain and restore our unique collection.
We rely on income from visitors and donations to keep the Centre running and to fund the restoration and conservation work required to maintain our unique collection of locomotives, carriages wagons, buildings and other artefacts, many of which date from Victorian times.
Having been closed for almost 4 months and now having to limit capacity to keep everyone safe, any donation you give us will help with the essential expenditure needed to safeguard these items for future generations to enjoy. If you are able to make a donation, then please do so. We thank you for your ongoing support at this exceptionally difficult time and hope to welcome you to the Centre very soon.
