- Engine Shed Photography Evening

Engine Shed Photography Evening

Wed 23 Sep - capture timeless scenes in our original GWR Engine Shed

Our original 1932 Engine Shed, full of famous Great Western locomotives such as Halls, Manors or possibly even a King, oozes period atmosphere.  Add expert backlighting and re-enactors in period outfits portraying loco crews, cleaners, fitters and maybe even a works’ foremen and you have all the ingredients for some wonderfully evocative and timeless scenes to be captured by photographers attending this exclusive evening run by Timeline Events.

The evening starts at around 18.00 and participants will have the chance to photograph a series of cameo scenes around the Engine Shed which still boasts many of its original fixtures and fittings.  Create images that recall the days when Great Western Railway or British Railways locomotives were simmering giants awaiting their next duty.

Planned finish time is around 22.00 to give everyone plenty of time in a relaxed way to fully capture all the scenes on offer. There will be a short break around 19.00 so that everyone can draw breath and recharge with a meal in the Refreshment Rooms (additional charge applies).

This event is limited to 30 photographers to ensure comfortable surroundings and easy use of tripods. Advance booking is strongly recommended as previous events have proved extremely popular. Bookings are handled by Timeline Events. (DRC is not responsible for the content of external websites).
