Cafe, Shop and other facilities

The Engine Shed Cafe

The Refreshment Rooms are open and offering a selection of hot foods along with a simple take-away menu. Food available includes a range of pasties, sausage rolls, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, cakes and snacks. We do have some gluten and/or dairy free and vegan options available. Hot food is usually served until approximately 2pm. We have inside seating and also plenty of picnic tables and benches provided around the site.

*Please note that whilst we are a dog friendly site, we do not allow dogs in the cafe (unless they are assistance dogs).

Picnic Area

Enjoy your meal out in our ample picnic area: plenty of fresh air, adjacent to the play area and and with good views of turntable.

Shop

From pocket money treats, books, jigsaws and hand crafted leathergoods, you’ll find a good range of items on sale in our shop.

Our souvenir range includes notepads and pens, badges, bookmarks and also a good children’s section.  For the enthusiast we offer books, DVDs and hotel chinaware, amongst other gifts.

Our Shop is also home to a very rare ‘Lamson Cash Railway’ exhibit dating to 1905, which of the 8 known to exist, is the only working example in the UK.

The Shop is open on all open days throughout the year.

Toilets

The toilets (including accessible facilities) are located within easy reach of the shop and Refreshment Rooms.

Baby Changing Facilities

Baby changing facilities are available within the accessible toilet.

First Aid

If you need first aid, please ask a member of staff to summon assistance

Pets

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the Centre but they should be kept on a lead. To ensure the comfort of all our visitors please remove any mess that your pet may leave behind. Sorry, but dogs, other than assistance dogs, are not allowed into the refreshment rooms.
