No 105860 - 'Mica B' Refrigerated Van

‘Mica’ was the GWR telegraphic code for a refrigerated meat van with interior ice tanks. The ‘B’ indicates that the van can be used as an ordinary ventilated van, without refrigeration, if required. These vans were later designated by British Rail as Vent-Insul-Meat.

105860 was one of 150 similar wagons built to diagram X8 under lot 921 between 1923 and 1926. Built in 1925, and preserved in 1976, it is owned by the 813 fund.
