Part of the carriage shed is open to visitors and here you can see magnificently restored coaches dating from Victorian times to the 1940s which evoke bygone eras. The collection includes a Travelling Post Office and the VIP Saloon reputed to have been used by General Eisenhower during the preparations for D-Day and later used in the GWR Royal Train!
You are welcome to walk through our carriage restoration bay, where you may also catch a glimpse of some of the painstaking work that goes to restore and maintain these vehicles in first class condition.
The building also includes a woodworking machine shop and a large covered indoor carriage storage area. Both of these are necessarily closed to the public for safety reasons, but details and pictures of all our rolling stock can be found on this website. Updates on restoration are posted on the Carriage and Wagon Facebook page.
