Didcot Railway Centre is an ideal destination for group bookings of all kinds, welcoming visitors of every age. Whether you are planning a children’s birthday party, a workplace outing, an organised travel group, or a social club visit, we are well equipped to accommodate your needs.

Set across a 21-acre heritage site, the Centre offers a wide variety of historic locations to explore. Visitors can experience authentic Great Western Railway platform buildings, an air raid shelter, a museum, and our impressive 1930s engine shed. The engine shed is home to notable locomotives including Pendennis Castle, Lady of Legend, and locomotive 1466, providing a memorable experience for railway enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.

The Centre operates two working demonstration railway lines, on which our locomotives run on selected operating days. On steam running days, visitors can enjoy unlimited rides, allowing groups to fully experience our historic locomotives in action.

For younger visitors, the site features a dedicated play area and extensive open space to explore. These attractions encourage imagination, discovery, and hands-on enjoyment, making the Centre an engaging and educational day out for families and school-age groups.

Our on-site catering facility offers a selection of food and drinks, and the gift shop provides the opportunity to purchase souvenirs to remember your visit. In addition, our knowledgeable and dedicated volunteer team is available to enhance your visit, offering historical insight and operational knowledge throughout the site.
