This is the second time my grandson and I have spent the day riding on Thomas the Tank Engine and visiting the Railway Centre with its Christmas treats.
I can’t praise this highly enough. It’s the nicest friendliest day you could wish for. The staff, all volunteers, are just wonderful. There is plenty to see and do. They put together a lovely Father Christmas grotto and handle the crowds with charm and warmth. The cafe serves simple home cooked food; the gift shop is great. There are games, stories and trains to explore, and you can ride one of the steam trains as many times as you like. My grandson loves it. Beats over-priced over-commercialised Winter Wonderlands etc hands down. We’ll be doing it again next year!

A Festive Day Out With Thomas

Wonderful day out. Took my 3 year old Grandson to visit Thomas and Father Christmas, it was also his birthday. We arrived late and had missed our time allocated, my daughter explained this to a member of staff who straight away said this was not a problem at all we could just go on the next train. Every staff member who I understand are nearly all volunteers were absolutely fabulous, several of them singing Happy birthday to my Grandson. Nothing was too much trouble, they never rushed us even went it was time to see Santa. We visited the gift shop, everything was reasonably priced which is unusual. We all had a wonderful time and my Grandson left feeling a very happy boy.
