Ann Middleton

Ann has worked in a variety of roles in the public and private sectors. She is a qualified programme manager and has managed major ICT and business change programmes. During her career she developed expertise in marketing, internal communication, policy development and diversity. Ann was chair of her employer’s social club and a trustee of the welfare fund.

Ann is a trustee of the Friends of Reading Museum and Oxfordshire Museums Council, which has given her the opportunity to develop expertise in museum management. While volunteering at Didcot Railway Centre Ann was responsible for Didcot Railway Centre’s Museum Accreditation application; we were awarded Full Accreditation in February 2020. She has also been successful in winning grants from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other organisations.

Ann has used her community engagement skills to develop links with the local community and has been instrumental in delivering a series of events, in partnership with local organisations, for local people who are struggling. Ann also initiated a partnership with the University of Reading’s Internship Scheme which provides paid work opportunities for students to prepare them for the workplace.
